Pros
  1. Lots of opportunity to learn and work on new technology.
  2. Good leave policies for employees.
  3. Onboarding payscale is good nowadays.
Cons
  1. Lot of restructuring.
  2. Too many procedures. From a company perspective, it is good for the bank, but for employees, it gets irritating.
  3. Annual hike depends on project/department growth; company performance is not relevant here. So make sure you land up in a project that makes huge profit. Otherwise, even if you perform the best, you may be getting less pay compared to an associate with low performance in another project.
Advice to Management

Employees who are loyal to HSBC for a couple of years are still underpaid.

Freshers are getting a better onboarding package than Associates with 6-9 years of experience.

Management needs to understand that hiring freshers from any institute ultimately requires training by the project team, and this is where issues arise.

I have observed many top-performing associates with 8+ years of experience are still paid less compared to freshers or laterals with 2-3 years of experience. This demoralizes the spirit to work.
