Pros
  • Good benefits (leave, medical claim, etc.)
  • Good relationship between senior and junior teammates
Cons

The conservative HSBC culture, inherited by line managers who migrated from the bank to GLT, tends not to be open to new ideas and approaches.

There is strict adherence to guidelines with little or no flexibility, as set by line managers (e.g., working hours).

Salaries are not synchronized across departments, resulting in staff with the same level of experience and/or performance but a huge gap in salary range.

Fresh graduate salaries (entry level) are almost the same as permanent staff salaries (junior level, approximately 2 years of working experience in GLT), resulting in dissatisfaction among junior co-workers.

Advice to Management
  • Be more flexible and adapt to new changes in technology or ways of working.
  • More work-life balance and flexibility in working hours.
  • Salary to be adjusted appropriately to performance and working experience.
