The process began with a 30-minute recruiter call, followed by a coding exercise.
Initially, after the first 30-minute call with the recruiter, I followed up regarding the coding exercise. Receiving no response, I assumed HubSpot was not moving forward with my application. Unexpectedly, an email arrived two weeks later with the coding exercise.
Overall, I enjoyed the coding exercise. After spending three hours on their coding test, the recruiter ghosted me. I have received no update on my application so far, despite sending multiple follow-ups.
Based on other interview reviews, this behavior seems to be a new norm. I sincerely feel communication could have been much better.
*** A message to HubSpot if anyone is watching *** If you expect candidates to spend 3 to 4 hours on a coding assignment to evaluate their skills, I would expect a feedback email in return. Responding to our emails should not take more than 10 minutes. I believe this is a fair expectation. Please respect everyone's time.
