The whole process took a couple of weeks. It began with a home assignment, followed by four rounds of technical interviews. I appreciated that all the interviews started with behavioral questions before delving into the technical aspects.
The feedback I received was that I performed well in all areas except System Design, which I found surprising. I wasn't pressed on any of my solutions or approaches, and I didn't receive any indication during the interviews that my solutions were unsatisfactory, nor was I asked probing technical questions.
However, the feedback from the Hiring Manager was that I did not answer the technical questions. Considering System Design is an open-ended exercise where cultural differences and unconscious biases might influence the interviewer, and given that this step apparently decides the outcome, I couldn't help but question the efficacy of the entire process and their organizational culture.
The Hiring Manager kept me updated throughout the entire process, which was great.
