Software Engineer Interview Experience - Cambridge, Massachusetts
Process
I applied and passed the coding assessment.
I had a follow-up call with the recruiter, who said we'd be moving on to the next round and that she would be in touch to set that up.
She did mention that she would be out of office the upcoming week, but that her colleague would reach out in the meantime to keep things moving along.
Unfortunately, I never heard back from either of them after that call, and it's been over three weeks.
I have since accepted a position elsewhere, but it's truly baffling how this kind of situation continues to happen with HubSpot recruiting.
Questions
The follow-up call with the recruiter was centered around my desire to return to HubSpot, as I am a previous HubSpot employee.
The tech assessment was the same as described in other Glassdoor reviews.

If you read these reviews and think "yeah, I'm up for the challenge" then it's great. Centralized authority and trust. Management is careful to not be top down. Exciting, if sometimes disorganized. Feels like a 40-person company. Pre-IPO run-up is exhilarating.Cons: You break it, you buy it. Authority to do your own thing means you own success and failure. Culture can be a bit fratty. Reliance on some superstars can feel like favoritism.
