Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

Process

This review is for the USA SWE Summer Intern 2025 FE role. I applied through RippleMatch and then received an invitation to complete the online assessment, which is quite different from other OAs I had in previous internship applications. If you're reading this, I believe you know what I am talking about.

After a successful submission, I received an email to schedule a recruiter screening. This was a Zoom call without a camera, to evaluate my culture and behavior fit, along with some logistical details.

After that, I advanced to the final round, which consisted of two interviews. Since I was recruiting for FE, I had to do a coding interview and a JavaScript interview.

Questions

  1. Why choose HubSpot?
  2. Have you ever had a conflict with your team, and how did you handle it?
  3. Merge Two Sorted Lists
  4. The JavaScript interview was just strange. Think of it as a way to showcase your JavaScript skills. For example, you might be asked to implement a "message logger" and then asked how to implement it using prototypes in JavaScript.
