The whole interview process was straightforward and standard for the position. I started talking to the recruiter after applying online.
I received a take-home challenge, followed by an on-site interview.
During the on-site, you could feel what it's like to work at HubSpot; the hostility was palpable. In one interview, the interviewer was extremely condescending and constantly patronizing.
Later, another interviewer presented a simple coding challenge and then walked out of the room, offering no follow-up questions or a chance for me to ask any. We finished with 30 minutes to spare, so it wasn't as though he was late for another meeting.
The interview with the hiring manager was no better. He constantly interrupted me while I was answering questions and was dismissive of my prior experience.
I wouldn't recommend anyone I know interview here. It was an overall uncomfortable and cringe set of interviews.
Take-home: Retrieve data from APIs, filter some of it, and send it to another endpoint.
On-site: Systems design - Design a URL shortener.
On-site: Design a Facebook-like social media database system.
On-site Coding: Easy LeetCode-style arrays problem.
