Pros: I was completely integrated into a team at HubSpot. I was able to work out of the same job board that the other developers were working on and directly impact the projects and goals the team had.

Cons: I was the only intern on my team, and the issues that I was working on were independent projects. On top of this, the internship was remote, so it consisted of me working independently without much communication with others for the majority of the internship.

Pros: As we've grown, we've done a great job of scaling the things that make working here great. Engineers still have incredible autonomy, and teams have trust to chase after big, ambitious missions, whether that means working on brand new features, or scaling and ensuring the quality of products that make our users successful today. We also seem to have some gravitational pull for bringing in caring, humble people who are incredibly smart and a pleasure to be around.

Cons: Things move quickly. The company's operating system is regularly evolving. We don't always get everything right... But if you're up for it, those are the things that make it interesting. This is a case study in motion.

Cons: - Leadership can sometimes be 'overly' positive. - Getting promoted isn't a clear path after SWE 1.
