Pros: I was completely integrated into a team at HubSpot. I was able to work out of the same job board that the other developers were working on and directly impact the projects and goals the team had.

Cons: I was the only intern on my team, and the issues that I was working on were independent projects. On top of this, the internship was remote, so it consisted of me working independently without much communication with others for the majority of the internship.

Pros: Talented and friendly colleagues. Management are very open to hearing your concerns and genuinely try to improve things. The whole business is very transparent; anything you want to know about how the business works is available to you. A good place for talented grads.

Cons: Career progress can be slow; it feels like you get stuck at a level. No matter how much they dress it up, you're building marketing automation software, and that can be a bit unrewarding. It's hard to have an impact on a 300+ person engineering org as an engineer. Experience outside of HubSpot doesn't count once you get in the door, and that can make the environment a bit frustrating for experienced engineers.

Pros: Excellent salary & benefits in Dublin for Engineering. Unlimited holiday policy is not just lip service - you can take time off whenever you want in Engineering anyway. Working hours are really flexible. Promoted when you deserve it. Great opportunities for self-development. Fast-moving company, growing quickly.

Cons: - It's quite enjoyable to work at HubSpot, so make sure you manage your time well for work-life balance. - This is the vast minority, but because some staff are so well looked after, you see some departments have issues with a sense of entitlement or egos.
