Pros

Very fun office (pre-COVID), great culture with great people, interesting and challenging work, flexible work schedule, unlimited vacation.

Cons

Could use more transparency around salary bands and criteria for promotion. There is uncertainty about career growth once you hit senior. The company switched to a remote-first mindset after I started. While this is a plus for some, I personally very much value an in-office experience, and that has since been put on the back burner, not just because of COVID. Teams own too many features and don’t have enough capacity to do it all. The grass is always greener on the other side though, and I think these are problems other tech companies face as well.

Advice to Management

Make sure you continue to value senior engineers instead of just new engineers. Continue to pay people fairly and competitively, and be more transparent about pay.
