Process

I received an interview call via LinkedIn. IBM HR reached out for a telephonic interview. The process was slow, but it was on time.

First round was an HR screen to ensure my profile matched and that I was familiar with the tech stack.

Second: A technical telephonic interview. The interviewer was a Manager in Big Data and asked about anomaly detection and ETL jobs, specifically detailing the ETL process using the ELK stack (Elastic, Logstash) and Splunk.

Third: This interview was with a Senior Director. They explained the role in detail and offered a position on the Bangalore team, which was a problem for me. The interviewer is a well-known speaker and holds a PhD. We discussed the offer, and it was close to my expectations (except for the location).

Fourth: To ensure I would join, I reiterated that I couldn't accept due to the location issue. As IBM is a giant organization, employees and teams can sometimes get lost in the process. The interviewer offered a joining bonus and made some additional verbal promises.
