Pros: Well-known company. Good experience.

Cons: The company has no direction. As soon as the next big thing comes out, they will try to shift the whole company to do that one thing. They are always late to the party and competing with companies that actually hire top talent. Layoffs are commonplace, and unless you are working on the current thing, you are at risk.

Pros: Usually great co-workers and, technically, some of the best in the industry, in my opinion. Often interesting projects that allow you to greatly expand your knowledge in many, many fields.

Cons: Incompetent senior management has restricted first-line managers to the extent that they are glorified team leads. Everything – every decision, every raise, every bonus, every schedule – is micromanaged by senior managers. The first-line managers are just talking heads touting the company line, and you know very few believe any of it. That, and the fact that every year, senior managers figure out a way to take something from the employees: vacation, raises, promotions, retirement, you name it. Fire Randy McDonald (HR VP) first. He seems to take particular joy in sticking it to the employees every year.

Pros: Work-life balance is good.

Cons: Pay is good but could be better.
