Java Software Developer Interview Experience - India

Process

I applied through one of the openings I found on LinkedIn.

I took the HackerRank test around the end of June. I received a response from a recruiter more than a month later. She asked me for some details.

It was a one-hour technical round. The interviewer was one of the finest interviewers I have faced. She was polite and elaborated on a few terms. I knew the meaning of these terms, but I was unable to derive them from the abbreviations. She touched upon a lot of various topics and wasn't looking for typical, bookish answers. The answers I provided, based on my hands-on experience, were sufficient for her. In the end, she gave a perfect summary of what she felt were my strengths and weaknesses.

In the evening, I received a call from the consultant, and she wanted to schedule the PDM round in 10 minutes. I was free, so I agreed. However, after waiting for 20 minutes after joining the call, she said the panel was busy and would like to reschedule for the next day.

The next day was Saturday, and an interview was scheduled for the afternoon. It was made clear that he wanted to discuss the salary and input my details into an internal portal. Although he did ask me a couple of technical questions, the details about my current project and the rest of the discussion focused on salary negotiation and location, etc.

This happened today, and I am hoping to receive the offer letter in the coming days.
