Process

A quick phone interview was followed by an invitation for an on-site interview.

The phone interview was primarily about my CV, college, and experience.

I was interviewed by two individuals from the company. They asked a number of questions about basic Linux commands, such as listing processes, troubleshooting, and finding IP addresses.

Next, they asked several basic networking questions, including:

  • What is a gateway?
  • What are the differences between routers and switches?
  • What is an IP address?
  • What is a DNS server?
  • How does DNS work?
  • What happens when you type an address into a browser and press Enter?

Finally, they asked basic Java questions about final, abstract classes, interfaces, and threads. They also asked me to design a recursive Fibonacci sequence.

After that, I was given a 20-minute Java test, similar to an OCJP exam.

Questions

Design a recursive Fibonacci sequence in Java or Python.

Explain the process when you type www.google.com and press Enter. What is happening next?
