Pros: They give you the opportunity to remain with the company for a while longer while they decide on the project, whether to continue with you or not.
Cons: When you are in this position, it is very difficult for you to get another job, as they require experience and they don't give you the opportunity. Sometimes, they already have people selected and they don't tell you. They stall you so they don't have to fire you, but in the end, they fire you.
