I cleared all the rounds, and the HR discussion happened. I received an email confirming my selection. I then submitted all required documents and filled out all pre-onboarding forms.
After a month, I received a call stating, "This time, we are unable to offer, and the reason is unclear. We will reach out to you if any new requirement comes in on a different account." This was very pathetic and unprofessional.
This was not the end. The next day, another recruiter called and asked me to schedule an interview for the same role. I was confused and explained that I hadn't received an offer despite being selected. He clarified that this was for a different account with an urgent requirement and assured me it wouldn't happen again. I agreed.
The following day, I completed the technical interview and was selected again for the Managerial and HR round. During this round, the interviewer said, "I can see you appeared multiple times for interviews; you should not appear in interviews again..." I was completely taken aback. I explained that this was due to the IBM recruitment system, not my actions, as no one can appear for an interview without a schedule. There is a severe lack of clarity within the recruitment team and management. This has been the worst experience of my life. I don't believe such situations occur even with tier-three companies that cannot afford to offer positions after selection. They are playing with candidates' emotions.
Day by day, IBM is losing its market value and reputation. When I called HR to discuss the above, the only response was an endless, "I need to check, then I will get back to you."
As of today, I am done relying on IBM. Even if they contact me in the future, I will not proceed with this process. I would prefer to join a small company with good values over IBM.
One request to management: Please stop playing with people's efforts and hopes like this.
