Recently, I had an interview at IBM, and what a pathetic experience it was.

Initially, I received a call from someone who I assumed was an HR representative but turned out to be an admin guy (strange enough).

He sent me an email about my interview schedule without any job description, which left me unclear about the position they were looking for.

Then, I went to the reception area and asked the lady there about my interview schedule. The lady at the reception was speaking in a completely unprofessional manner and asked me to call the guy who had called me for the interview.

I was like, 'WT...'

Then the interviewer arrived and started with all basic questions. It continued to be a basic-level interview. They asked me nothing about my current job profile, and a person with over 5 years of experience in the software industry was asked to draw the defect life cycle. Oh, common, please. I don't think this should be an IBM standard.

Second scenario: I was first asked to list down all the use cases to test the Yahoo web page. When I started listing them, the lady said that it should be in a proper format with actions and expected results.

I said test cases have proper formats, and then she was like, 'Oh, okay... continue writing.'

Once I completed my test cases, the lady then said to review the test plan with the seniors.

I was like, 'What do you want? Use case, test case, test plan, or test strategy?'

The worst part is that I was rejected for answering all fresher-level questions.
