Pros: It’s refreshing to work for a company that is genuinely committed to making a difference and improving the world.

Cons: While dedicated to continuous improvement, the company also values work-life balance, making sure employees have the time to recharge and grow personally.

Pros: Remote (at the time) Smart people Relevant work

Cons: A little slow. A little disorganized. A little outdated.

Pros: As a software developer intern, having just completed my Junior year of college studying Comp Sci and Math, I was making $24 an hour. That is very good pay for an intern. The people I worked with were very much older than I and had an absolute ton of knowledge that they took pride in teaching me. IBM also provided a nice bonus of $1000 for me to "move" up to Burlington, VT, where I was working, which was funny because I attend the University of Vermont and didn't actually have to move anywhere. IBM is also great since once you are in, you can choose several career paths within the company to pursue.

Cons: Lots of the employees are older and will be retiring in the next 5-10 years. I would be sad to see my friends go. Morale isn't terribly high. Employees suffered through massive layoffs during the recession, and IBM has been trying its hardest to keep its current employees by cutting benefits and being as cheap as it can in many facets of the business.
