Process
This was an internal transfer between departments. Generally, such horizontal moves are treated almost as new jobs where one has to go through a two-round interview process. The interviews are with the technical team and with the new department lead. After they have interviewed all candidates, a decision is made fairly quickly, and the successful candidate is informed and begins the transition process to the new team.
