Pros: Good work environment, good learning.

Cons: Nothing. They just have to focus on the compensation part.

Pros: Good employee benefits and work-life balance.

Cons: All is in the hands of the manager.

Pros: IBM has their hands in every market and every technology. You can take on areas that interest you or learn new skills.

Cons: - Very little incentives. Raises are hard to come by. Bonuses basically don't exist. - No job security. You can and will be cut. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with merit in most cases. You are an entry in a spreadsheet, and if it makes financial sense, they will let you go. - Lack of work-life balance. It's just not possible to meet the demands, especially since they have laid off so many of your team members, in a 40-hour week. - Too many managers. I couldn't count the number of times I've been on calls with people who have no clue what our products actually do. Then they proceed to tell me how I should be doing my work. - No clear mission. I'm not sure what our overall mission is. I think we're just here to serve the stock price. The strategy changes every year.
