A lot of various kinds of opportunities within the company. You can do well if you network well. They reward the best employees quite well. Good benefits.
How well you play politics is more important for promotion than your performance. Management doesn't seem to care about employees. There is no sense of a strong company culture. I don't think employees have any pride in working for IBM anymore. Even as a full-time employee, you feel like a contractor. You know management has virtually no interest in trying to save your job.
