IBM is huge. Getting advancement requires positive personal relationships with people in the bureaucracy.

Recently, [they] walked back [their] work-life balance [policy], which led to firing any remote employees that didn't move to an office location.

Advice to Management

Less bureaucracy. I shouldn't have to waste $250 in time filling out forms to get approval for a $100 item that will save me an hour every day.
