Cool, but not so cool either
Following are the best reasons I think anyone should like IBM.
- Research in particular helps you innovate and also absorb your creative inputs.
- Lot of highlight on work-life balance (honest effort from the company).
- Very flexible work hours.
My liking for IBM is mainly because of these additional reasons:
- I work in research, and not too many companies have industrial research labs like IBM's. They are unique for carrying out academia-quality research in industry.
My points of dislikes:
- Not a good ladder in terms of professional growth. You are siloed in specific groups and very difficult to reach across.
- You are evaluated on your bands, and the process is too bureaucratic.
Make opportunities for young professionals, inspire them to join IBM.
