Pros

Old company tag which can be recognised.

After Covid, it's losing its legacy of a better workplace.

Flexible timing, but it depends on the client you are working with.

Cons
  1. Too much micromanagement in almost every project after COVID.
  2. Upper management doesn't appreciate juniors and never wants them to get promoted.
  3. Almost all projects are short-term, migration, or maintenance, so there's nothing to learn.
  4. You have to work under idiots like functional managers or Scrum Masters who don't know anything technical.
  5. No salary hikes, no promotions.
  6. If you are on the bench anytime, you can be terminated in just one call with WFM and HR.
  7. IBM does not have good projects in India currently. Join only if you don't have any other option.
  8. They push for certification, but you won't get a chance to get hands-on experience as they don't have projects. It's only for showcase.
  9. Even if you are on a project, they can release you within a week with no prior notice.
  10. Keep IBM as a last option because they don't have quality work that can boost your career, micromanagement, old projects of mostly migration work which is very frustrating, and no learning.
Advice to Management

Most of the upper management just enjoy attending meetings and follow up with their juniors. They offer no technical help because they are ill-informed. If there is success, the credit goes to the manager; otherwise, they will target their fellows.
