I want to share this for educational purposes, be it with IBM management or people who see themselves working for IBM.
IBM is filled with old-mindset-driven people, people with 20+ years of experience and absolute skills. You can't expect any kind of professionalism from them, be it with the way they talk (you feel like you're talking with your high school principal), and they will call you on your personal number any time and for every stupid reason.
They have no clue on what needs to be done and are hiring people to do things without any roadmap. These people are expected to work 13 hours for deliverables which will always miss the deadline as there is no clue on what needs to be done and no concept of POC. Led by really unacknowledged management.
If you want to learn and expand your skillset and expect professional treatment, please stay away from IBM. It is far better to work with a smaller company for less money, as it will contribute to your future.
The hike is a joke here. People who have been part of this company for more than 6 years got a hike only twice, that too single-digit. One more instance, a teammate who worked 18 hours a day was not given a hike for a year, and the next year they gave 3%. There is no concept of shift allowance, and you can't claim your OT.
Worst company I have worked with in my professional experience.
Please make some changes in the way you're handling things. IBM has a great history, and I don't see any future if you continue what you're doing now.
Get some sensible management who actually have experience in setting up contacts and negotiating terms with clients, and also deputies who can handle deliverables and have an idea of what needs to be done.
It was based on what I know and the skills I have. It was behavioral and not too technical. They were inclined to know whether I knew different kinds of OS thoroughly and if I could learn on the job.
Easy if you already have a good offer from a FAANG company. Is that not 30 words or a lot more to say? And then, I guess it was the one.
The standard interview process consists of 3 rounds. * The first round is the assessment round, based on game theory, where it is all about your analytical skills. * The second round is the technical round, and you can expect a panel interview.
