Employed. You're not unemployed; you have a job.
It is not what it used to be. Upper management is a mess. The company has turned into a big speculation business, not an IT company but a sales company.
You might think you'll get to work with new shiny tools based on the companies IBM has been buying in the last couple of years, but nope. Your work is to promote IBM's own tools with your work, except you need to go through processes to make them available to your team, and they don't work, lol. (Yeah, I'm talking about Watson Orchestrate).
On another side, I've been waiting on a promotion for the last year and a half and basically will never receive one. The layoffs have been a tradition for the last couple of years. Yet, they're changing the dynamic next year to make it look like low-performance layoffs, possibly impacting your severance package.
Basically, run while you can. You'll still see people that have been around for 7+ years. Yeah, they had it way better than if you joined 3 years ago from now. Don't even bother coming in here.
Do better?
HackerRank coding problems followed by a live video interview with two DevOps engineers/managers. The coding challenges in the initial phone screen were not too difficult. One involved regex, and the other was related to arrays.
I applied and, within a couple of days, got an online test via HackerRank. After that, a few days later, I received an email for a Skype interview, and we discussed a time that worked best. The questions were about averages; you just needed to know y
I received an email requesting that I complete a coding challenge and video interview within 5 business days. It consisted of 6 video questions and 3 coding questions, each lasting 30 minutes.
