Pros

A nice name to have on your CV. While your technical training might be limited due to the budget freeze in place, what you will learn is how to 'reset expectations'. For example, if a client approaches you for something outside the norm or agreed upon, you will need to let the client know.

There is a lot of information floating around the internal website which will be useful if you're inclined to train yourself up.

Benefits:

  • Their Qantas Club membership is one of the cheapest I've seen.
  • Automatic eligibility to almost every German auto marque in existence to save some serious coin.
Cons

Red tape galore! You just can't get anything done without pulling out the chainsaw and chopping each and every red tape in your way. By the time you're done with cutting the red tape, your ideas or innovation become somewhat obsolete, or you've already forgotten what you wanted to achieve.

Management - they seem to be concentrated on the statement of work. If it's a little out of the SOW, that's classed as BAU (business as usual) tasks. They will approach the client (or the account team first) to raise the requested job as a project and charge accordingly.

Advice to Management
