Pros

Well-respected company with a great history.

Cons

The company is extremely top-heavy with management and VPs, and is more concerned with large salaries and stock options for management than investing in growing the company. They became fixated on $20 per share by 2015 and made poor decisions trying to meet an arbitrary goal, then adjusted for economic conditions and developing long-term growth.

Advice to Management

It's too late. IBM has become just another large corporation and has lost the title of driving innovation. Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, and like companies are the new innovators. IBM tries to keep up by buying other companies to catch up to the competition instead of leading.
