It's a great place to build your career along with work-life balance.
There are great learning opportunities, and IBM has many products as well if you are looking to work in a product-based organization. In terms of services, it has many opportunities, as IBM is associated with all the top-level sectors as well as organizations globally.
Innovation and thinking are two important parameters here.
I don't see anything yet, apart from the cafeteria issue, in my Kolkata (India) location.
After 7:30 PM IST, cafeteria service closes, and there's no automatic coffee vending machine at my work location.
This issue is not present in other cities; at least, I haven't seen it in the Bangalore location.
Nothing as such! Only if you can make cafeteria service available in the Kolkata location beyond 7:30 PM IST, as we all work in different shifts. An automatic tea/coffee vending machine on each floor would also be beneficial.
My interview at IBM was smooth and professional. The panel focused on technical skills, problem-solving, and communication. They were friendly, asked scenario-based questions, and emphasized teamwork and adaptability. Overall, it was good.
All my interviewers were super cool, and from the questions asked, I was quite happy that I was going to the right team. However, there was an equally bad experience on the hiring/recruiting front. Communication was poor, infrequent, or nonexistent
The interview was very good and in-depth, covering trending technology. The technical person had a good command of Java and Spring. There were two rounds of interviews, and the process was smooth.
