Large company resources. Really smart people to work with. Lots of opportunities to work on truly innovative technology. Decent benefits and a good amount of vacation days. As a developer, lots of room for growth without having to move into management roles. Ability to move around the company if you aren't happy in your current role or organization.
Sometimes it's hard to feel the bigger picture and how you fit in with such a large company.
Lacks some of the benefits you'd expect from other big tech companies.
Not much in the way of bonuses.
So many changes to the organization as IBM rapidly changes its priorities, but my day-to-day never seems to change.
Stop changing the org so often. Keep investing in the growth of your employees.
My interview at IBM was smooth and professional. The panel focused on technical skills, problem-solving, and communication. They were friendly, asked scenario-based questions, and emphasized teamwork and adaptability. Overall, it was good.
All my interviewers were super cool, and from the questions asked, I was quite happy that I was going to the right team. However, there was an equally bad experience on the hiring/recruiting front. Communication was poor, infrequent, or nonexistent
The interview was very good and in-depth, covering trending technology. The technical person had a good command of Java and Spring. There were two rounds of interviews, and the process was smooth.
