IBM did a stellar job transitioning to a virtual internship experience in the midst of the pandemic. My manager made a concerted effort to introduce me to as many people as possible throughout the country and repeatedly asked me about areas of IBM that interest me.
I got the opportunity to learn about seriously cutting-edge stuff such as QC efforts and high-performance mainframes, as well as full access to a vast library of IBM educational materials.
Work that I did will directly benefit several people who I interacted with throughout the internship, which is a nice thing to know.
The area of the company that I was in is a bit low-level compared to my programming interests, which was frustrating at times.
Turns out 'backend' means different things depending on the organization.
The pay is also relatively low for a tech internship, but the level of opportunity, both educational and experiential, helps compensate for that fact.
OA, Technical, Managerial round. OA was mostly LeetCode easy and medium. I had a question from array prefix sum and another from a string. Technical round had 2-3 DSA questions from stack and hashmaps, where I had to write the pseudocode and explai
I met with them at my school's career fair. The process moved pretty quickly. I completed a coding assessment and was able to get a technical interview. This was my first interview process, so I didn't have much to base my experience off of.
They have an online coding challenge that includes behavioral video submissions at the beginning. Following that, there are video submissions where you discuss your code implementation. Each coding challenge is timed differently, with the duration v
