Cons
  • IBM Mexico offers consulting services, and you end up working for another company.

  • Low and uncompetitive salaries. Once hired, it's very difficult to get a raise.

  • You will experience all the disadvantages of a consultancy here.

  • You depend heavily on the manager and project to which you are assigned.

  • Once on the assigned project, you are practically on your own. Almost any problem you encounter with the assigned company, you will have to figure it out yourself.

  • Most of the time, you end up working more hours than stipulated in your contract, and even so, you are forced to report that you worked a maximum of 8 hours to avoid increasing project costs.

  • The work environment depends on the company to which you are assigned. In my case, I had a terrible work environment.

  • As an American company, some Mexican holidays are not respected.

  • It is a company with a strong "woke" ideology. You are obligated to take many courses on gender ideology, inclusion, etc. Many IBM employees agree with and promote "woke" ideology.

  • Few opportunities for professional growth within the company, unless you have many years with the company or are a friend or relative of someone.

Advice to Management
