Pros

Tremendous work flexibility in terms of when and where to work. Depending on the job, you may work with some of the best minds in the industry. Salary and benefits are competitive; however, the cost of living in the Poughkeepsie, NY location has become dramatically more expensive over the past few years, but salaries haven't nearly kept up to make it worthwhile to live/work here instead of, for example, a place like Austin, TX.

Cons

Stagnant salary and career growth.

New hires fleeing due to uninspired leadership and work.

Very low morale.

High cost of living and lack of other opportunities in the area outside of IBM keep salaries down.

Advice to Management

Focus more on employees instead of just the bottom line, and you may be surprised by the impact on the bottom line.
