The working from home option is the only good thing about working at IBM Canada.
IBM Canada does seem to employ a diverse workforce.
Below market average for base salaries. Very top-heavy in management, with too many layers of puppet managers whose hands are tied. Any remaining benefits seem to be continuously being cut (health benefits, pensions, on-call pay has been halved or expected to be done for free, etc.). There is no training or education.
Heavy outsourcing to cheaper countries is already happening in a big way, so there is no long-term future at IBM Canada, unless you are in management to manage outsourcing projects and have skills such as LEAN or SIX SIGMA.
Way too many administrative positions (change coordinators, help desk/service analysts, account management personnel, production control, etc.) and too many of the actual technical brains, experience, and workers being cut. Technical teams are already lean, and you still want to get blood out of a stone!
With outsourcing deals, don't necessarily take on staff who aren't skilled and can't contribute. Give them a trial 12-month period to enable IBM to get rid of untalented staff.
It was a good interview overall. Majority of que on the last work experience. Overall a great company to work for in this world, and it would be a good start for any fresher, especially B.Tech people.
Initial Screening Recruiter call (30–45 mins) * High-level discussion of background, skills, and leadership experience. * Questions on past projects, scope of ownership, and interest in leadership. * Some companies check compensation expectations h
I was interviewed one time, about two or three weeks after I applied. My interviewers were three of my future managers. They were friendly and to the point, which was nice. Overall, a nice experience. Interview Questions
