Pros: - Get to work with amazing engineers and extremely smart traders. - Good ideas get heard no matter who you are. - I work closely with traders and stakeholders on every project from initial design and spec through to completion, where I am able to make suggestions and improvements, and vice-versa. - Lots of agency and responsibility. - Low barriers of entry to exploratory projects, and even failed experiments are extremely valued. - The work is never boring; the name of the game is competitiveness, and we always have to innovate and come up with better and better ideas, models, etc. - "No questions asked" if time off is required for life stuff.

Cons: - Given how much responsibility you have, it can be stressful at times, but this overall is a net positive. - Hours are definitely longer than a typical job, but this is not forced on anyone; rather, people want to be working longer because they enjoy it. - High-performing culture, no time for "coasting" or you will be left behind. This can be a negative depending on what you're looking for.
