The interview process was very straightforward. Within a week, I had a conversation with a recruiter, a screening interview, a talk with the Head of Department, and scheduled an onsite interview. In general, the interview process is very fast.
The interview itself was relatively difficult: 9 AM to 5 PM with multiple team members. While that's a usual approach, most of the tasks were at a very high level. I understand Indeed looks for good professionals, but this creates high pressure. However, what I liked most were the practical questions.
The most inconvenient part is that their interview team is located in Austin, TX, which is a two-hour difference from the West Coast. You can spend a lot of time on the trip.
In general, the interview was interesting, and all the people were nice, except for one thing – see below:
BE AWARE: They claim to reimburse you for all reasonable expenses, but if the decision is negative, they add you to a blacklist and do not respond. I lost about $250 in direct expenses. That's a shame.
DP questions, data structures with added behavior, system design for distributed environments.
Programming questions that you can do on your own laptop. This is good because you do not have to accommodate another system or IDE. It uses a lot of mapping between entries and index building. A very reasonable task.
