Software Engineer Interview Experience

Positive ExperienceGot Offer

Process

The first round consisted of a timed coding challenge on HackerRank and a technical interview with an engineer over the phone.

The second round is an all-day technical interview at the office, which includes lunch.

This all-day interview consists of:

  • 3-4 whiteboard coding problems
  • A 90-minute solo coding challenge on a computer

Questions

All of the coding questions were related to Indeed's product and business area, which was nice.

I signed an NDA, so I won't give exact questions. However, other reviews do list exact questions asked during the process.

They are looking at how you approach the problem, as well as how good your solution is.

All of the whiteboard problems involved a Big O analysis and a question about how to make the solution better. Always try to improve the complexity of your solution.
