Process

I was interviewed through a referral program. The process was smooth but time-consuming. I went for a month to complete everything, but there was a valid reason: the 2nd wave of COVID was at its peak.

1st Round: Technical

  • Coding questions to check STLs
  • Core C++ knowledge, based on error finding in a given code
  • Bit manipulation questions
  • Some behavioral questions.

Assignment

  • Two questions with some test cases, based on modern C++ and STLs/templates.
  • You have to finish and send it to HR before the 2nd round; it will be discussed in the next round.

2nd Round: Technical

  • Coding question to check STLs
  • Core C++ knowledge, based on error finding in a given code
  • Core C++ based questions.
  • Assignment code discussion and verification
  • Linux-based questions, CMake, GDB, Valgrind

3rd Round: Techno-Managerial

  • Mostly behavioral questions. Be smart to answer quickly and smartly (don't try to be over-smart).
  • Project discussion

4th Round: Techno-Managerial (on-shore / Germany)

  • Difference between Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven software development
  • Agile methodology and other software development methodologies discussed.

5th Round: Managerial

  • Nothing much, basic discussion about your profile.

6th Round: HR

  • Discussion about work and culture. No discussion on salary here.

That's it. All the best.

Questions

Sorry, I don't remember the exact questions, but I can give a hint.

  1. Question based on array manipulation, can be solved using good knowledge of STL.
  2. Input: "This is That", reverse it to output: "That is This".
  3. Design Array class (std::array<data type, size>).
  4. Design smart pointer classes (shared, unique).
  5. Overloading new and delete operators: why, how, when.
  6. C++ core concepts and pointers.
  7. Bit manipulation related programming questions.
