Process

I was reached out to by a recruiter.

The first round was an Online Assessment (OA) with four questions to be completed in 45 minutes. I solved three out of four (one easy, two medium, and one medium-hard).

I advanced to the second round, a one-hour coding interview with one of their engineers. The questions were not inherently difficult but were time-consuming, involving tasks like reading files and string processing.

There were two follow-up questions. We had to solve everything within 45 minutes, with 15 minutes allocated for introductions and Q&A. I felt it was not truly possible to finish everything, especially since they also asked about performance improvements.

I sensed the interviewer was not entirely familiar with the questions, as it took them a while to understand them.

I received a rejection, with the feedback stating they were looking for stronger Java fundamentals and in-depth SQL knowledge. Ironically, I wasn't asked any SQL questions.

Overall, it felt like a disorganized interview process.
