Process

For now, I have had two rounds, and things have been pretty positive for me.

  1. Telephonic Round (2 people)
  2. Skype Interview (2 people)

The Telephonic Round was more behavioral and a CV walkthrough.

The Skype Round was more technical. They asked me technical questions, expecting me to answer them. Here are some of the topics:

  • Explain the use of keywords static, volatile, and register in C.
  • How do you debug in firmware (soft breakpoints/hard breakpoints)?
  • Explain the use of I2C/SPI.
  • Explain the interrupt mechanism in an x86 machine (I was familiar with ARM, so I explained that).
  • Define a structure (the best possible way) to store a birth date.
  • How do you optimize the system to increase sleep states?
  • What is Duff's Device? (I had never heard of this and said I didn't know. He then suggested I could Google it after the interview was done.)

Puzzle Round

There are three boxes labeled incorrectly. Box 1 says "Apple," Box 2 says "Oranges," and Box 3 says "Apples+Oranges." What is the minimum number of fruits you need to pick to correctly decipher the boxes?
