The process began with a 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager, followed by a face-to-face interview the following week. Prior to the latter interview, the friendly interviewer included information about what to expect during the face-to-face interview, such as sharing my experience based on Intel's six values.
The first hour of the interview process was smooth, with me sharing my former duties and people management skills with the same interviewer. Still, I was caught unprepared for a technical test conducted by two engineers during the second hour. This included writing a simple application to open and write files using any programming language, some SQL questions, and general coding questions, such as how to prevent file locks.
My answers were less than satisfactory, and as expected, there was no feedback from them, despite a smooth conversation with the friendly hiring manager.
Note that this was a multi-position interview (the team had two vacancies with different tasks). In general, candidates would be software engineers developing applications using C++ to generate FPGA test patterns or writing web applications.
