I applied online, and the process went on for more than six months. I currently work in the US and was interested in a position based in India. I had an employee referral and was also able to contact the hiring manager directly in July 2018, but received no response.
Subsequently, the requirement for the position was closed. A requirement for a similar position with lesser experience was then posted. This process was repeated for the second time. I was able to contact the director of the engineering group that this position was a part of and explained the situation. I received an interview call within 48 hours.
Two rounds of telephonic technical discussions were scheduled and conducted by thermal engineers from California. The interviews went well; it was one of the best interviews that I ever had. They were looking to thoroughly scrutinize the candidate's fundamental understanding.
I never heard back for months despite my repeated requests for status updates. Finally, I received an automated reject email after a couple of months.
