Pros

Hiring quotas are now in effect for women and minorities, so women can now get hired easier.

Cons

It's like high school – groups are in cliques. The "Indian" clique, the "Asian" clique, the "American" clique – the Women at Intel "clique". They even eat at different lunch tables, like high school, and there are even unwritten social interaction rules that no one will ever admit to.

Predatory managers out to make their quarterly targets no matter what admit they have no "interpersonal skills", no time for that soft-skill stuff. It shows in the culture – rude, mean, uncivilized – not progressive at all.

Advice to Management

Open your eyes – your culture needs a major overhaul. Warren Buffett just pulled all his cash out – take notice. Make some changes quickly, from the top down. Get rid of your "retired in a cube" lifers; they're a real buzz kill for excited new graduates.
