Pros

Flexible work/life balance – it depends on the role, but it is what you make it.

Know what you will be working on.

Easy to communicate with leadership.

Company wide open for lateral growth.

Time off is flexible, with 4/8 week sabbaticals every 4/7 years.

Cons

Pay at the 50th percentile for the role.

Pay increases slow once you accept an employment contract.

Promotion/pay increases relative to peers can be an issue if you are in a high-performing team.

Extra job perks keep getting cut, with little left outside of primary compensation.

Advice to Management

Cutting perks that are important for family balance is not a solution to controlling the bottom line. Morale and the talent we attract are impacted.

Focus on core business strategy for topline growth should be the focus, and invest in employees.
