Pros

-Dedicated group of engineers makes it easy to collaborate within the group. -Upper management listens to employees and encourages them to suggest positive improvements to culture/work. -Applying yourself allows more exposure to other project/work opportunities within the company.

Cons
  • Lacking guidance in revising expected work commitment.
  • Poor management style invites redundant meetings and expectations for work output, resulting in over 60 hours a week consistently.
  • The "Exempt and Salaried" structure lets management impose competitive work/life balance and pushes their employees to work over 40 hours per week (generally spending 55-80 hours working) to meet output expectations.
  • Upper management doesn't act on information provided by employees. Instead, they tell employees to "engineer solutions to solve the group's problems," resulting in no action taken by upper management.
  • Rewards employees based on duration at the company rather than their contributions.
