Pros: Intel has a lot of intelligent people who have a wealth of knowledge. The salaries at Intel are competitive, and probably around the market average. You get full benefits and a decent retirement plan. Every site has an onsite gym and other amenities to take a break from work. If you don't like to sit in a cubicle, there are many common areas where you can work.

Cons: Intel's location is not particularly the best. Like any large company, you can be lost in the crowd. Some groups offer rotation programs. Due to the size of the company, some jobs are small in scope, and you are unable to see the big picture.

Pros: Resources (e.g., equipment, expertise) are widely available. The chance to make a difference in the PC industry is greater here than nearly any other place. There remain some very smart people, even though many have left either due to incompetent management or lack of ability to cut through the bureaucracy.

Cons: Intel has a simply huge, extremely bloated bureaucracy. This results in the inability to make decisions -- either to try something new or to quit doing something old. As a result, it can be EXTREMELY frustrating to watch. Many groups have a strongly top-down management style, usually by people who often have no clue (technical or business-wise). There are a lot of old-timers who rose in the ranks either from length of being there or from having so many people hired under them. These people are usually not bright and usually INCREDIBLY insecure, resulting in political nightmares. See the book "Losing Faith" (google it) for a good description.

Pros: The work environment is good. I work on a small project with very few engineers. It's a good environment to learn about different aspects of the work that my teammates do. The work environment is flexible. Entry.

Cons: Different parts of the company have political agendas that often interfere and hinder problem-solving. Although the org that I work for doesn’t have this problem, they can sometimes be at the mercy of these teams.
