Pros

Hires and pays well in locations outside Silicon Valley.

I get to work on a variety of problems and issues. I am able to work on open source Linux hardware enablement.

Cons

The company is really more like a finance company, so many decisions are made differently from how you might expect. Often, projects are stopped or shelved without much notice. Constant reorganizations can be tricky to manage. Often, the management claims to be data-driven but can ignore data when it suits them.

Advice to Management

Don't gut your teams by laying off the most experienced people who actually know how to solve problems and educate new hires.
