Pros

Good compensation, good benefits, adequate time off. The overall compensation plan may be among the best in the high tech industry.

Cons

Slow-moving, risk-averse, political. The entire company is driven by how cute PowerPoint presentations are, and very little can be accomplished without them. A graphic artist could get Intel to commit to spending a billion dollars, whereas an engineer with good technology could not begin to get a commitment.

Advice to Management

Learn to take risks and manage to value. Powerpoint is NOT VALUE; it is politics. Grow up and expect real work and leadership from senior people, not just presentations. When a senior person delivers constant pretty cartoons and the product deliverable is not progressing, the senior person is not a leader. Reassign them.
