Pros

A great benefit was the ability to move to different positions and maintain benefits. It is like I had four different careers at Intel, with the opportunity to work in different groups and do new things. I had numerous opportunities for industry training courses to refine and improve skills and ideas. Wonderful employee opportunities abound at Intel.

Cons

Intel is a large corporation. Any large organization has a certain amount of bureaucracy; Intel is no exception.

Advice to Management

Some senior managers were straight shooters; some avoided tough questions with obvious sidestepping that diminished their credibility. They should all be straight shooters.

One of the best answers I received was: "There is data on that, which we are not sharing with this audience, that influenced this decision." That is an acceptable answer. A shallow, incredulous answer based on the limited, publicly available data isn't.

When that happens, trust is lost, and employees know not to waste time with a follow-up question.
