Some truly amazing engineers. Great place at lower grades, but it gets extremely toxic for senior employees.
Compensation is below average.
Incredibly, the company has managed to have too many employees (so that some people spend all their time trying to find random projects to stay busy) and too few (critical areas are definitely understaffed).
Company puts all responsibility on managers without backing them up. Also, corporate blatantly lies about compensation and creates unrealistic expectations that managers then have to deal with.
Corporate is still good at compensating and promoting VPs and those above them, while cutting salaries for everybody else.
There's no direction other than capital spending and the hope that customers will come. Products are mediocre. Company lives in the 90's and things are getting worse with the current CEO.
In SW, upper level is full of marketing people with no understanding of technology. On the path to becoming IBM (if not already there). Absolutely irrelevant company.
